old dan yeller

is Danielle, a smallish 26-year-old born and raised in suburban Long Island, who escaped to Brooklyn, then Ecuador, and has returned for graduate school, where she'll soon obtain her MFA in Creative Writing. She likes food a whole lot, and exercise a whole little, so you can see where this is going. She writes all sorts of things - plays, poems, fiction, nonfiction - but none of that is here. She has never actually seen Old Yeller. She likes the challenge of keeping plants alive, but doesn't always rise to meet it. Oh, and not a bad cook. Ask her to make you a smoothie.

sammy adorable monsters

This is Samuel L. Jackson III. My parents rescued him from a shelter then pawned him off on me, whereupon I and my roommates fell deeply in love. I’m not sure who’ll keep him at the end of the year, but I’m not thinking about that now.
